My Present Future Thought

You are in the future but I am thinking about you today

You being in my arms and me wanting you to stay

A new world I find by looking into your eyes

My tabula rasa, my angel in disguise

I will teach you how to eat and how to talk

I will hold your hand when you learn how to walk

Everywhere you go, I will be one step behind

Everywhere you go, you will always be on my mind

I wonder if I am able to succeed

To give you everything you want and everything you need

I wonder if I will ever be equipped

Because there is no handbook, no manuscript

But your mere existence will make me feel blessed

You will be the reason for my heart beating in my chest

I will give you life and my life you will be

I will love you forever and with every part of me
