Fairy Tale Findings

Fairy Tale Findings

A Poem by Lala

He looks at her like a typical lover
As an adventurer wanting to discover
She watches him set sail
To place her in his fairy tale
But he doesn't know it is something he cannot achieve
Because in happy endings she does not believe

This poem said a lot in so few words. I really enjoyed reading it. I could sense and underlying sorrow in this poem, and once I read the last line, I understood why I felt that way. I also love the abiguity in this poem; the lines "place her in his fairy tale" and "in happy endings she does not believe" can be interpreted many ways. It can mean that the man just wants the woman to be his lover, that he wants to end her sorrow, that they are already in a relationship and he plans to get married...the meanings can go on and on (I'm terrible at interpretation, so forgive me it I'm completely wrong). I also liked the fairy tale reference in the last line. Well done.
