My Rock

My Rock

A Poem by Lala

You used to be my rock some time ago
Getting me through darkness when I felt low
You used to be my solid foundation
Leaning on you when I needed consolation
My rock I guess you still are
But how times have changed is bizarre
Because you have started to crack
And all you do now is hold me back

Author's Note

Lala
I am not sure if it comes forward through the poem but it is written based on thoughts I had about how people view someone being their ‘rock’ as a positive thing. However some people are a ‘rock’ because of their negative influences and are nothing but a weight on your shoulders, making it impossible for you to move forward.
