Wanting No Hope

Wanting No Hope

A Poem by Lala

We are fascinated with the unknown
Yet scared because nothing is set in stone
And that is why we hope
So that with this mystery we can cope
Hope is an intricate concept
Used to believe in a positive prospect
But I do not want to hope anymore
Because it involves something you long for
It is a wish that has not been granted yet
Expectations that you want to be met
Or wanting to achieve a certain goal
Hope comes when things seem out of your control
It arrives when there is a certain dissatisfaction
So we hold on to this odd kind of abstraction
But it is hope I wish I did not need
A life without hope being in the lead
Because I want to be content
With the life I have spent
And I hear the irony when I say
I hope I can stop hoping one day
