Distant Hope

Distant Hope

A Poem by Lala

Distance, an everlasting complication
For any kind of relation
Although you were in a different hemisphere
We continued to talk, year after year
But despite of my self-deception
I realized that we were no exception
Because of the many miles that kept us apart
You never let me inside your heart
You became frustrated when I was devastated
Because of how far we were located
You thought you could not provide the help I needed
Which led to discussions that were emotional and heated
You dissociated yourself, you simply withdrew
And there is nothing I can do to convince you
That you´re taking the wrong turn
So I´m left with feelings about the old days I yearn
And I keep hanging on to this illusion
That you're just going through a phase of confusion
So I continue to hope and pray, that one day you will say
"Remember that time, when I almost let you slip away?
