Not Your Type

Not Your Type

A Poem by Lala

I'm not the type to catch an eye at first glance
So when I saw you I knew I didn't stand a chance
You were the type everybody wants to pursue
Something that you are simply used to
You are the complete opposite of me
When you're in a room, it's all people can see
And for me it only took one look
To be interested in more than the cover of your book
It is the way you walk that is intriguing
It is the way you talk that quickens my breathing
But I know it will only remain a physical attraction
Because it would never lead to an interaction
I'd have a lot to offer you but it goes to waste
Because I know I'm not your taste
You're out of my league, you're a whole different game
So you will never know my name
You play by different rules
And I'm just another one of those fools
Who can only admire you from a distance
Because you'll never know of my existence
