My Star

My Star

A Poem by Lala

I am writing these words with you in my thoughts
Trying to unravel your mind and to connect the dots
I look at these phrases, but I see us
And I hear the conversations and topics we would discuss
We would sit outside and look up to the sky
Where we see the stars that have come to die
And when I think about what we have been through
I realize that stars are entities that resemble you
Their light travels longer than they exist
But their impression does not seem to desist
And just like stars, I believe you cannot see
The impact you have on me
Because you cannot see your own light
You do not realize the fire within me that you ignite
Your soul becomes visible at night
Sharing your feelings as you hold me tight
I know you wonder if death will be a better destination
An everlasting vacation with an unknown location
You think you are solely made of depravity
But just like stars, you are being held together by your own gravity
You are the strongest person I know
And the only one who can truly make me glow
You are a pattern of components, you are my constellation
And I will never stop looking up to you with admiration
