You Are The SeasonsA Poem by LalaThe sun reflected in the babbling brook And it represented your everlasting, sparkling look A light summer breeze was blowing and I thought of your touch And it reminded me how I miss it so much "Shall I compare thee to a Summer's day" Is what Shakespeare would say But you were so much more so I knew To solely a Summer's day I could not reduce you All the different colors that Fall provides Represents for me all your different sides And when the leaves would fall, leaving behind a naked tree It made me think about the times you opened up to me Leaving all of your worries and walls behind Letting me completely into your mind And when a blanket of snow would cover the town We would go to our bed and lay down You would not speak, but simply hold my hand And we would be in our own little Winter wonderland When it was time for Spring I finally realized this was not just a fling I have always been a late bloomer, unlike you Your flowers grew quick and I wondered what I had to do To protect the garden you were comprised of And to make you realize that what I felt was true love But you were plucked away from me too fast And my world collapsed now that you belong in my past But when Summer finally came around the corner I was no longer a mourner Because you would shine the sun down upon me And it was your brightening smile that I could see These written words sound cliche but I have my reasons For associating you with seasons It is because of their immateriality Through which I can grant you immortality Whether it be Summer, Winter, Spring or Fall I will be reminded of how you were my all And because of this comparison, during the course of a year
