In my world you opened doors

Elevated my mind to different floors

Expanded the horizon of my mind

Providing perspectives I did not know I could find

But your soul had undiscovered places

A secret character with hidden faces

The ways it affected me I wish you understood

Desperately hoping that one day you would

But your stubbornness made our love perish
Yet the happiness you provided I will always cherish

I wish you comprehended my point of view

But because of this inability I could no longer be with you

So although it goes against every fiber of my being

I know leaving you will be freeing

It still hurts knowing you're no longer by my side

And there are many nights I have cried
It has caused my heart to break

But it was a decision I had to make

You remain a part of my story, just not of the end

And I am grateful for every second we have spend
