My Diamond

My Diamond

A Poem by Lala

Making comparisons I normally tend to avoid
But I want to illustrate you're not a soul that is destroyed
Vulnerability you try to avoid at all cost
Causing you to often feel lost
I want you to believe me when I say
You are not broken in any kind of way
Diamonds are formed under crushing pressures
An unseen force causing small treasures
They are formed through intense heat
A hidden activity right under our feet
A covered process, corresponding with the way you conceal
All the things you truly feel
Your bones strain under the weight of your fears
Fighting continuously to hold back your tears
When your emotions seem like a chaotic storm
Let it prevail in its purest form
Because with all the suppressing that you do
I believe your tears are little diamonds too
And I will watch them in awe
As they gently roll down your jaw
So please my love, turn off the light of your masquerade
Because it is in darkness that jewels are made
