Trust Me

Trust Me

A Poem by Lala

You were complicated, I was fascinated
You were calculated and I was captivated
Trying to read you but I feel illiterate
Wondering if your secrecy is deliberate
Remaining out of my reach and beyond my perception
Always keeping up appearances of deception
I look at you and I know you think I'm blind
But your demeanor reveals your state of mind
I want to know the content of your Pandora box
But you have protected it with a million locks
Your conscious a mess with feelings you suppress
Making you believe I will love you less
I wish I could illustrate with beautiful metaphors
That I aspire to be forever yours
And I wish I could formulate clarifying explanations
That I would love you regardless of difficult situations
And although these are talents I do not possess
Remember despite of your mess, it is you who I want to caress
I want you to let me in, but I will not coerce
Just know I'm here, for better and for worse
And the only thing I yearn
Is for you to try to love me in return
