Staying Awake

Staying Awake

A Poem by Lala

Nighttime has come and I am wide awake
My mind drifting off to a situation in which you partake
No distracting surroundings, just an empty setting
An occupied mind, a whole world I am forgetting
My brain giving only you its full attention
How this can be is beyond my comprehension
My thoughts had many places to go to
Nonetheless they turned towards you
You enable me to leave all worries behind
By occupying the entire space in my mind
Weighty wonder, pensive powerlessness
Every thought of you I still try to suppress
Because I want to control every aspect of my existence
But my mind is unable to keep you at a distance
Making me wonder about the irrefutable fact
You influence my life with great impact
Irrational reliance, demanding dependence
Uncertain if my mind is blessed with your attendance
Forever fearful of an addicted brain
That needs you to remain sane
Restlessness caused by only you
Sleepless nights I have become used to
But if you're the reason behind it then
I don't care if I never sleep again

Nicely written. You must of stayed up for hours writing this. It would have been on my mind until I was done it. (I just played on your poem LOL)
Very enjoyable read as most people who has some type of responsibility can relate.

Thank you for sharing!
