Dying Love

Dying Love

A Poem by Lala

White floors and white walls
Crowded rooms and crowded halls
Somewhere in that maze she lays
Him sitting by her side for all those days
All those days that she lost hope
And all those days she couldn't cope
He was there to kiss her awake and say hello
The one who held her hand and never let go
Her life hanging on a string
He looks at her hand that is dressed by a wedding ring
Reminiscing their life together
Wishing it could last forever
Her heartbeat slows down, he feels her grip getting weaker
For the last time she falls asleep, deeper and deeper
The sparkle in her eyes start to fade away
He would do anything to make her stay
But he can only watch her last minutes count down
A last smile appears on her face as she whispers 'I will be around'
They both accept her time has come to die
But never will it be the right time to say goodbye
When life has left, only her body is there to remain
Leaving him behind, with all his sorrow and his pain
