Alone, But Not Lonely

Alone, But Not Lonely

A Poem by sabine
"

Wandering by myself in the desert, I found some much needed peace

"
The ground is soft underfoot, birds chirp softly in the distance, the smell of last night's rain still lingers in the sagebrush around me, and although I can still hear the sounds of civilization, I feel completely alone in this desert wilderness. Not the kind of alone that brings sadness along with it, this is the kind of alone that brings introspection and revelation, the kind of alone that brings peace instead of loneliness. The weight that constantly presses on my chest feels lighter and my head feels clearer while I'm out here, away from the constant stream of chaos that makes up my daily life. Breathing in the fresh air, the smell of dust and sage, I feel at home, content with a life that just hours before seemed impossibly difficult.
With the sand below me and clouds above me, I am reminded of how enormous and complex the world is and how insignificant I am in the grand scheme of things. But instead of overwhelming me with the usual feelings of panic and anxiety, this thought makes me feel alive in a way I haven't felt in a long while. Without another person in sight, I am alone with my thoughts, away from distractions, free to simply be and to simply think. And although I am all alone, I have never felt less lonely.

I took a different direction with this poem, opting for a prose approach. Thanks for taking the time to read it, I'd love to hear what you think of it.

A good place to be. To begin to build, even before a foundation is laid, you need a piece of land clear.

What all do i think of your very prosaic poetry, & of xourse, of you is that how fictional & so realistic one could really be at the same time? Lovely words. Heartfelt theme. Great with very artistic opening lines. Wonderful location... to set things around as plotting. Industrious way to take your readers-cum-holy lovers to the ride of Jungle. Very holographic scenario of you très panoramic mind you have just filtered here around in manifested words. Loved the second phrase. It's one of my favourites, your highness. Seemed a bit rhythmic & quiet fascinating to be read. It displays how a fragile spirit keep wandering through the thrones of life in a hope to search its destiny that's just found in the peace of... mind. Brilliant! Had a great time with your work. Guaranteed, am looking forward to smoking (reading) your weed (stuffs). Keep writing, you pretty one.
