Thinking Sidetracked

Thinking Sidetracked

A Poem by Life With You is Like a Shallow Grave

As I go down the road of life
I get sidetracked by the damage
Such huge accidents and incidents
On the collision course to death
And it makes me wonder as I wander
What is at the end of this alley…
And why is it that your face fades…
Could it be my love for you is only a spare?
No it couldn’t be the flat I’m on…could it?

As I try my hardest to get to the picket fence
You’ll throw your arms around me then…
And before I shut my eyes, I take in your scent
That’s strange, I almost thought it was sulfur … oh my heart throb-
ing pain, I just wanted to hear those words.
No! not that you care for me or you want me to be yours
Cause me being yours means nothing
Though nothing can be everything
And nothing speaks so much
But not what I want
To hear from you
My sweet, evil kitten
Just say I love you
