Godsend

Godsend

A Poem by SabrinaThePoet

Maybe she is a god-send
Maybe God knew that I would love her before I existed
Before she even existed
I would like to think so
Because I swear that our aortas are connected
That I can feel her where I need her most
That even through distance I can feel her having premature ventricular contractions
That our hearts beat alternatively yet simultaneously
That we make love melodically and harmonically
Like good jazz music on the summer nights of 1957
She is the Miles Davis to my Coltrane

I like how you use scientific language poetically here, it's beautiful. I also like the final line and the music it brings to mind, I just want to see it connected to something earlier in the poem. Maybe connecting the beat of hearts and songs, idk. I like it as is.
