Chapter 3: The King's Castle

Chapter 3: The King's Castle

A Chapter by Sabriel09
"

The King's Castle...and Sabriel's meeting with her father.

"

Sabriel and Hendrik walk down the corridors towards the King's chamber. Not a word is said about what had happened between the two. Sabriel throws Hendrik a few glances, dreading this event. "Hendrik?" She whispers so softly that the guard in front of them cannot hear.

Hendrik looks down at Sabriel and frowns. "Yes, Sabriel?" He responds placing a gently hand on the small of her back.

Her face turns a deep red feeling Hendrik's hand on her back. She thought to herself 'He truly does care about me. Maybe he really can get me out of this!' She smiles up at him as her thoughts trail off. "What's going to happen to me?"

Hendrik chuckles softly to himself knowing that she was trying to make light of the situation. "I am not sure Sabriel. But I promise I will do my best to get you out of it. I cannot sit and watch the king kill his own flesh and blood. It is not right." He glances quickly up at the other guard to see if he was listening to the conversation. "Sabriel, I love you, always have, and I will do my best to save you. Even if it is the last thing I will do."

(In the King's Chamber)

Hendrik and Sabriel stop in front of the big oak doors that lead into the King's Chamber. Sabriel sighs deeply as Hendrik opens the big wooden doors, making a creaking sound. They both step into the chamber slowly, both eyes on the King sitting in his thrown. "All bow to King George III!" A servant announces, as everyone bows.

Hendrik bows to the King as well, looking up at Sabriel as she does not bow. "Sabriel, bow to your father. He will kill you!" Hendrik whispers angrily.

Sabriel stares at her father, noticing the weight he has gained since she last saw him. "No! I will not bow to anyone!" She whispers back just as angrily. "I will not stand down!"

King George III sees Sabriel still standing. He leans over to one of his body guards and whispers something into his ear. The guard walks over to Sabriel and kicks her in the back of the knee, making her drop to her knees. Sabriel growls, glaring at her father with hatred. "Why does my daughter show me such hatred?" The king grumbles, sounding half drunk. "That is no way a lady should treat their beloved father!" He stands up, swaying a little bit.

Sabriel growls under her breath, seeing that her father is drunk and it's just past the noon hour. "Father! If you brought me here just to get sentenced to death, than make it quick!" Sabriel says angrily. "I do not wish to spend the last hours of my life worrying about a non-caring father such as yourself!"

King George III stares in amazement at Sabriel and her words. He stumbles towards Sabriel and smacks her across the face sending her into the wall. "DO NOT TALK TO YOUR FATHER THAT WAY! I DID NOT KNOW YOU WANTED TO DIE TO SOON!" George yells as Sabriel sits up holding her side.

Sabriel watches her father with distaste as she slowly gets up. "Father! You showed such devotion and love to me up until the night of my birthday! Since that night you have showed such disgust and hatred toward! I don't even know the reason as to why!" She growls softly.

King George III looks Sabriel up and down, a smiling spreading across his face. "You wish to know the reason behind my hatred and disgust?" He watches the pleading look spread across Sabriel's face. "Because I know what you are, Daughter! I know you have become a monster of the night! I could tell the moment you came back to your party!"

Sabriel looks at her father in shock. "How?....." Her sentence trails off as she looks down. "It was not my choice, Father! I simply went on a stroll through the Rose Garden. I should have taken guards with me but I thought I was safe!" She looks up at him. "WHY DID YOU NOT TELL ME ABOUT THE CREATURES OF NIGHT?!" Sabriel yells at her father, tears streaming down her face.

King George III walks over to his daughter and lifts her face towards his. "I know by the way you smelled. Remember we are elves. We have a rather strong sense of smell." He sighs deeply. "I did not tell you about the creatures because I thought we were safe from them. I did not know one would come after you!" He walks away. "Hendrik, take her back to the cell. The de-heading will be on the morrow."

Sabriel growls under her breath. "Why are sentencing me to death? You know what I am and what I'm capable of! You should know I did not plague that town! So why are you sentencing me?" She asks angrily standing up.

King George III turns and faces Sabriel. "Because you are a creature of the night. We do not need anymore than what there are. I am sorry Daughter but it must be done!" He waves his hand dismissing Sabriel and Hendrik.

(Back in the Cell)

Sabriel sits down on the cot, putting her head in her hands. "Hendrik, I do not understand him! I have never killed a human just to fill my hunger. I am still part elf, I can live off of food as well as blood." She sighs deeply sitting back and looks at Hendrik.

Hendrik sits next to Sabriel, looking at the wall. "He does not realize that Sab! He would rather kill his own flesh and blood than take the risk of you killing innocent people." He sighs as well putting his arm around Sabriel. "I promised you I would set you free! I will not break that promise!" He turns and presses his lips to hers.

Sabriel hungrily kisses Hendrik back, her fingers twining into his hair as she pulls him closer. She pulls back and looks deep into his eyes. "Hendrik, please stay with me tonight! I know it is a cell but please stay?" She whispers softly. "Let me spend my last moments with you."

Seeing the pleading in her eyes, Hendrik pulls Sabriel into his arms. "Sab, what am I to tell the King? He will know why I stayed." He holds her away from him and wipes some tears from her cheeks. "You don't have any last moments. I told you I would get you out of here. I promise!"

Sabriel looks down at the ground. "Tell him that I am just a wench and you need to fill one of your duties." She whispers. "I do not see how you plan to get me out of this. I do not see any escape."

He pulls her face towards his. "Sab, do you not trust me? I will get you out of here. I have a few tricks up my sleeve." He kisses her again with such force she gasps than relaxes in his arms.

Sabriel whimpers softly, kissing him back with the same force. She slides onto his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck. Hendrik grunts softly, sliding his tongue into her mouth, their tongues dancing together.

They gently fall back onto the cot, Sabriel laying on top of him. Hendrik pulls her shirt up over her head and tosses it to the side. He leaves trails of kisses down her chin, neck, and to her chest. He cups one of her firm breasts in his hand, rubbing her n****e through her bra. Sabriel gasps in delight at his touch, her fingers twining into his hair. Hendrik's hand trails down her waist and to her hips. He runs his fingers across her pant line, groaning at the feel of her soft skin against his.

Sabriel nibbles on the top Hendrik's ear as he kissed her chest, sliding her bra to the side and take the sweet mound into his mouth. She gasps, feeling his wet, warm mouth against her bare skin. "Oh! Hendrik! Make sweet love to me!" She gasps in delight.

Hendrik, in response, rolls Sabriel so he is on top. He flicks his tongue across her n****e while untying the belt around her waist. Hendrik unsnaps her bra with the other hand and throws it to the side cupping her breast. He kisses across Sabriel's chest and takes her other n****e into his mouth. Suddenly he sits up and looks Sabriel over. "I can't Sab! I'm getting married within the next month. I do not want to betray my future wife." He picks her clothes up and hands them to her. "Please get dressed before we go too far."

Sabriel covers her chest with her clothes watching him in shock. "But Hendrik?-" She looks down. "I am sorry! I took it too far. Do not stay with me tonight." She puts her bra back on then slips her shirt over her head laying on her side with her back to Hendrik. "Please leave me Hendrik!"

Hendrik sighs and walks out the door slamming it shut. 'That damned Sabriel! She knows exactly how to get under one's skin.' He thinks angrily to himself as he descends the stairs. 'I am getting married and there's nothing she can do about it!' He walks to his quarters and sits in his desk bending over some paper work.

I like the story . The action and struggle is enough to keep my attention and read on. I'm a fan of this type of writing. I try to write story of the past and myths. Never make any sense. A very good chapter. Left a open ending.
