The descent to eternityA Poem by S_WritergirlFollow me, on my unfortunate descent to eternity.Falling through the atmosphere, I felt a rush of adrenaline, It was frightening yet divine, Almost as if I could fly. But I wasn't flying, Something had pushed me over the edge, I couldn't recollect, Maybe I had pushed myself this far. Then gloom surrounds. I wake to an icy and desolate forest, The grass around me coated with ice, I feel a stab of pain inside me, My heart is hollow, like the barks of the near by trees. I look around me desperately, Searching for help, but in vain, The forest is dark and eerie, Hope left me, but not the pain. Is this death, I ask myself, I run in frantic circles, Not certain where I was going, The cold air hitting me mercilessly. I stumble over a branch, Standing up, I cry out, Nobody is listening, I am stuck here forever. Hopeless, I slide into the ice, Letting myself go, This is fate, I compromise as I lie here, Writing in the cold wasteland that is eternity. © 2016 S_WritergirlAuthor's Note
