GLASS CEILINGS

GLASS CEILINGS

A Poem by Stoned Immaculate

The night
Lingers and I dream
The day I passed through
GLASS CEILINGS
Forcing the proletariat
To sacrifice peace of mind.
Reinforced with fortunate astuteness,
My niche in the North
And the East side
Of America’s dream
Is solidified.

As the Sun
Begins her dance
With the horizon,
Before her lustrous eyes
Turn sleepy sand
Into tiny glass shards
Of uncertain reality.
Affliction enters
My golden dream.
The realization my princess
And my queen
Are still chained below
GLASS CEILINGS.
