A Story by SYEDA ALIYA

     THE PLIGHT

The ambiguity of the heart is like a storm on full moon night

The ship, in the middle of the sea is like a tiny bird in the huge sky

The heart of hopes and the soul of desires, Is in severe anguish

Not a sailor, nor a soldier, still a bold heart

My disappointment is leading to spontaneity

Of the inner STORM

The essence of beautiful shore fills the soul With power but see

THERE ARE MILES TO BE CROSSED AND WOUNDS TO BE HEALED

Absence of company leads to even more dreadful hours,

But coziness of sweet memories provides shelter from wolfish weather

The dreams which once lit the whole body on fire

Now seems no less than horror nightmares

The fear of failure is like losing life after being the

The last man in the battle field

Now, the life is hidden, dark in the ashes of coal,

When the heart has turned to stone

The bonds which once healed the hardest stroke

Has turned a reason for unseen wound

Deep inside still fighting with the truth, loneliness

Sometimes sheepishly consoles, but then

Bitten hard by the hopes, the eyes feel a

Burden again to open its soft skin and face the world
