HateA Poem by SVPoemSurrounding me at all times The horror that keeps reminding me Of what could be Of what should be How to get rid of this petrifaction? It haunts my every thought My every move It crawls slowly along my skin The pang of guilt The pain of knowing I can see it in the edge of my vision I can hear it whisper those bittersweet words Those words I had thought to be lies Those words I had thought to be deception They’re back They’re back to feed on my pain To feed on my sorrow To steal my soul To make me forget The hope I once held The love I once had It burns my throat Begging to be released Begging to be heard My cries are muffled By the sounds of the singing The sweet song of the birds The ones who are free The ones who cannot be bothered I have been enslaved In this world of hate Forever enslaved In this eerie world of hate.
