Two doves apart

Two doves apart

A Poem by shawnt5604

Now that it's all said and done
Wind separates the love of two doves
Just when he thought he couldn't get through
He got over you

Never saw it coming
Should have started running
A long time ago

Time is going fast
Can't take it back
No regrets
Only diminishing memories
Of you

Day fades to black
As night comes back
Your tests
He failed which brought misery
To you

Not sure if he's sad
Or just relieved
The heart on his sleeve
Tends not to care

So used to drawing regret from the truth
But this time his dignity soothes
His spirit as he knows
the wind blows
The love of two doves apart
