The scent of a flower's spring bloom
Refreshing
The season's first bird singing their tune
Progressing
Into a mind so peacefully resting
As I count my forgotten blessings

April's showers landing gently against the grass
Relfecting
So helplessly upon the depth of my past
Suppressing
Any pain I once fealt, mending
the broken hearts of my beginning
As today, I feel revived

So finally alive inside
As I remember all the reasons why
I try

A new divide
Between the feelings in my life
And the way I strive
So thankfully
Gazing into the sunrise
I abide

By a principal so simple
To allow my stresses to dwindle
Away
Because today
As my senses are mesmerized
And nature's aesthetic ways rectify
My life
I don't see a single reason why
To deny
That I am happy

You go, Shawn! You have every single right to be happy. I love the fact that you looked past all of the heartbreaks, mistakes, and struggles to stride for happiness. That is the real successful people in life these days to me. Happiness should be valued more than wealth or fame. The wealthy and famous aren't truly happy. I love the vivid imagery in the beginning stanzas.

^^^^^I totally can relate! One mistake in that though. In the first line, is that suppose to be "felt"?

I am more and more impressed with your work, Shawn. I am fan. I must admit that. :)
