You swear and you lie
Affecting so many lives
Though i still swear that you're beautiful
But would you even cry
At my funeral

The days we were together-
Now long and gone
I remember the days still
It was like a beautiful song
But all along
Your decietful eyes lied
Taking back all the good times
But now that we are over it all
And I can finally feel humbled and whole
Would you even cry
At my funeral

I can still look back
And find good memories
But can you?
Though I would never take it back
I still remember with ease
But do you?
And these thoughts I admit
Have took its toll
Wondering if you would even
Cry at my funeral

I have often wondered these same thoughts with all of my exes. My most recent break-up didn't burn as bad as I thought it would eventually feel but he was the one I thought I would spend forever with. He was the one I laughed with and had so many jokes with. He gave me so much to remember. Now we are just friends and we laugh back at those memories. The good thing about it is....not only do I remember everything, so does he. The answer is yes, the person would cry at your funeral unless she really doesn't have a heart. Even though my exes have put me through Hell and back, I would definitely cry because once upon a time in my book they were a whole chapter. This is one of the first I have read of yours and I must say I loved this. I will continue reading yours. I can relate and this is my type of poetry. I only saw a couple of things I thought were a little forced maybe like "and these thoughts I admit, have took its toll" would it be..?-- "and these thoughts I admit, have taken its toll" and is "humbled" supposed to be "humble"? You made one spelling error too. It's "deceitful".

Oh, if you only knew how much I appreciate your feedback. :) Since I've started this site I've received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback and it has been wonderful and reasuring. But you more than all, took the time to not only read but truly get into the poem and experience what I am talking about.
