Warning Shot

Warning Shot

A Poem by shawnt5604

barrell pointed towards the air
pent up anger
coming from everywhere

tired of the games
disgusted with all the ways
i've been betrayed

wishing all the times I prayed
would give me an answer today
because I'm on my last limb
don't even care about my next sins

exhausted with climbing
an uphill battle
that only gets steeper
as my senses are rattled

feeling cursed
too many lines crossed
i've done been cut and opened up
too much has been lost

so consider this
my warning shot
thoughts tied up in a knot

because the next time
all I'll leave behind
is the scene of the crime
