I love her anyway

I love her anyway

A Poem by shawnt5604

closing the backdoor
as I find my escape
from this pain

I don't care what they say
I love her anyway

the last argument's pent up anger
doesn't cover up the way
she makes me feel
on a good day

even if i was blind I could discover
the blissful feelings I get
beneath these covers

no one else can compete
with the way she sees the real me inside
and no matter how much they want me to
I will not hide
my love inside
for her

they only see the things
that yes, I'm ashamed of
but If they seen all the love
she gave me when they weren't around

it's a beautiful sound-
her voice when nobody else is around
the whispers in the dark
that are always bound
to give me goosebumps
that nobody else feels
but I do

because I don't care what they say
I love her anyway

The course of true love never did run smooth.- William Shakespeare

You have shown this quite well in your poem.

I think seen should be saw, in fitting with the rest of the poem's correct grammar, 6th stanza, "if only they saw". As to the sentiment of the poem, it portrays a relationship which is outwardly imperfect to some, but one which the writer wants to hang onto.
