Dear Mother

Dear Mother

A Poem by shawnt5604

looking at tomorrow
trying to erase the sorrow
as I think of today
trying to accept the way
that things have changed

loving the things you would say
to easily pick up my day
never meant to be so in vein
so here in my bed I lay

don't show me how it feels
to own your scar
if I only knew how defenseless
you really are

I'm sure you remember
everything
and it's the one thing that eats at
my own being

I could tell you how much you meant to me
a thousand times
but it wouldn't make up for
all the senseless crimes

how bad it pains me
that I can't change the past
the neverending task
I yearn for today

as shadows lay
against the ground so faintly
always reflecting
the me you never wanted me to be

If only you could see
the love that came from me
all along...

Our mothers hold a most honoured place in our hearts. They have sacrificed for us ,bled for us,cried for us and prayed for us.We sometimes go astray from the path they wish we would walk.Even though we have changed we should always let them know how much we love them:)
