monster you made me

am i so different inside
then the rest of the world
i think I am
the beauty in me
wears such a disguise
every now and then

 

twisted and torn
from the things I once seen as real
time has transpired
away from the things that make me feel healed

 

not feeling myself
not sure I ever have
this illness is consuming me
so catastrophic
so sad

 

I am someone to me
though still hard to find
hard to fight this disease
when it makes me so blind

 

climbing an uphill battle
without any shoes
hard to win
when all that I remember
is what it feels like to lose
