stop the clock...

stop the clock...

A Poem by shawnt5604

trying to breathe
as my words go unspoken
gasping for air
or maybe just my own thoughts

my thinking
scattered
my intentions
unclear

my mind
a beautiful mess that entices my fear

near
the end you might say
i laugh
as i begin each day

why
i dont know let me ask you
do you understand
because i sure as hell dont
let me tell you what i just might do

a bridge
doesnt make me want to jump
only climb higher
why not enjoy the fall
when your life's at the end of tis timer

tick
tock

I see the element of breathing and gasping for life and the desire for it all to end. Yet much like breathing, we can stop the pain by never breathing again or simply opening up and breathing in.
If the air is toxic we die, but we die if we choose not to risk the breath. Usually, the sir is pure enough to take us a few more steps down the path of life.
Oh, and yes, the clock is ticking from the fist gasp in the delivery room...
Expressive write.
