ray of sunlight...

the sun peeks through the blinds
as i lay here with one eye open
contemplating whether i should even get up
to see what today brings

 

my hands are shaking
my heart pounding
thinking of all the ways
yesterday was a misery

 

remembering the days
when i didnt feel this way
reminising of all the times
before my mind led atray

 

but i grit my teeth and I bare
as i stand up to feel the warmth
i open the blinds
as the sunshine reminds me
that every day is a beauty

 

god blessed me with this life
and i'm gonna' hold my head up high
no matter how hard yesterday was
i'm going to take a step forward today

 

even though the perfect tomorrow
seems to be the day that never comes
i will march forward
into this neverending journey
that god gave me - my life...
