Why Wait ?

Why Wait ?

A Poem by RHEA CROSLEY
"

A poem about haste.

"

Our flesh can tread to quickly where angles are to wise to fly over - a defiling of reason.
If only we would wait for better fruit that God gives freely in its due season.

We wait for winters end to find a spring flower in the field.
For want of autumn should we tare down the leaves of summer to watch them descend?

Why with the haste of deceitful knowledge cross the forbidden line.
When in the right season innuendos of wisdom fall like leaves upon the mind

Why so anxious, why so desperate,  does not the Father of light know the best time for blessing.
Why be so hasty, falling into the trap of some devils cursing.

There is a place of rest,Tis within His arms.
Don't trust when darkness quickly guides to devils charms.

This is awesome Rhea. Impatience.. desires of the flesh vs. knowledge of the spirit... we as human beings are prone to this. So much to be said here, so much to ponder and express, but I think the bottom line is ... we're weak. That doesn't mean we have an excuse and are under no obligation to exersize self control... of course we should! To the best of our ability. But in the end, we fall short. Though, there are those who claim to be in complete control. Hmm. I wonder..

Great job my friend! This is a very well written piece :)

This was really well-written. An excellent work! It rings of truth.. expressing how impatient we, as a society, have become. It isn't really a good thing to be that way, and your poem depicts that very well.

So true. We run into the traps of Satan with eyes wide open and the fruit in our hand, like foolish gleeful children. Had we just waited upon the Lord....Wonderfully written my friend!

Just as human beings need their rest, their time.. so does Nature. The Lord knows the moment, Man's ruined enough without altering the seasons.

This is beautifully constructed. Thanking your for sharing.

I don't know what to say... That is very very deep and well written.. I liked every part of it and i especially liked this sentence " If only we would wait for better fruit that God gives freely in its due season. "

This is a great road map to house of holy. These lines will put anyones faith on the spot. We will always be guilty of sin but when we strive to become closer to God, we come closer to being what his image of us really is. Only by the grace of God can we gain the strength to overcome our temptations.

When in the right season innuendos of wisdom fall like leaves upon the mind

This line stood out for me but as a whole ...this is complete and wonderful.

Nice poem. I agree with you completely right here. A rather serious poem, but with so much wisdom, and I def agree that the Adversary, (Devil) is constantly tempting us, and using his charm and allure to draw us in. (shoot, i knew some men that fit that perfectly)...but either way, we can only be whole and completley happy in the Lord's arms, because Satan only wnats us to be depressed and miserable as he is. I have been to both sides, and I prefer the Lord, becuase there is more peace and light in his arms.

thanks for sharing this great piece Rhea.

You hit the nail on the head, Rhea. I've been there, and know exactly what you speak of. Very well done, my friend!
