The Tongue

The Tongue

A Poem by RHEA CROSLEY
"

The tongue and amazing life form.

"

The tongue a messenger of good and evil.
Sometimes soft and wisely still.
Other times breaking peace by being shrill.

A receptor that tastes the world outside,
Then lets in and down the slide.

Defending the helpless
so valiantly it flairs.

In cowardice it  shrivels behind guarded teeth,
trembling fearing to let the words of freedom release.

The tongue leading men to fight, protect, comfort. heal.
Hiding deceivers  behind a scheming ugly deal.

The giver of pleasure beyond measure
the receiver of the same.

The tongue the ultimate good and the paramount of evil.

Tame the tongue and you tame the world.

Rhea, this really hits home, and speaks truth and understanding into what makes the tonque sharper
then a two edged sword, beautifully written and expressed, keep up the great work.
