An Ant That Saw Death Slain

An Ant That Saw Death Slain

A Poem by RHEA CROSLEY
"

Poem entered in 10 word contest using following ten words: Imagine, ant, wandering, tree, shade, wildly, tears, fall, gently, umbrella

"

Imagine, I was an ant that went back in time.
Wandering up to Golgotha to see what I would find.

I was carried there by large beams of wood;
wildly carried on a bumpy path by the living Word.

Tears they fall from some, but others behaved violently.
Violently upon the God man who gave Himself so gently.

Then they stood the beams up as a tree.
Hammered that man up so all could be free.

Fearful it was as demons came and men mocked in shame.
Now under a dark thick umbrella of clouds He died that death be slain. .

And blood so much blood ran down even from a thorny crown.
I heard them all cry as they realized whose blood was on the ground.

Oh! This is wonderful Rhea, you have outdone yourself, not only did you meet the criteria of the contest, but you have given your reader something very important...thinking fuel! Gosh this is so beautiful it truly is well-constructed, especially seeing there were restrictions and rules attached to your prose. I often think about the crucifixion and know without doubt that I would have been killed trying to stop them from doing what they did...this has left me with an emotional heart...Kudos Rhea...

Oh top class! This was brilliant! You made the most beautiful possible use anyone could do with the 10 words, which you seamlessly wove into this amazingly poignant write.

Thank you for entering this into Tovli's challenge, well done indeed!

Wow - if you'll excuse the word, this is such a beautiful use of those listed words. I can't imagine anyone, least of all me, managing to reach your standard, sincerity or creativity.

Congratulations.
