Young family fun

Young family fun

A Poem by RHEA CROSLEY
"

The best of life when the children where young. I will put a picture including all four later.

"

These where the most wonderful exciting fulfilling days.

The days when my children where young and my wife had undying spark.

When we would go to museums and zoos and do all that we could.

Never did a day have enough time ,never was there enough in just lying in bed.

We had little money but we had just enough.

We frolicked.

We danced.

We played with the paint.

We played with the food.

We sang in the car.

We yelled in the woods.

We rolled down the hills.

We climbed the Appalachians

We camped in the woods.

We camped in the mountains.

We camped on the side of Pikes Peak.

We swam with the dolphins.

We played in the waves.

With four children we lived in a tent.

For we ran out of money to pay house rent.

We spent all the time we  could together.

We where closer then birds of a feather.

We argued and fought but never to much.

For forward unto the next adventure we were thrust.

We spent all are money.

We had such a blast.

These where the days when my little family was young.

To church we would go, then off to a show.

We did not want to miss, any family trip.

Yes sometimes it seemed, that are family had flipped.

We togther experienced life under the sun.

While others built mansions we built dreams and had fun.

While others lived apart we .....lived!!!

I have no regrets for not building a fortune.

And I am so glad this life I did not miss despite some of its torture.

I am so blessed for having a family under the sun.

For having had this magnificent group run.

You could give me nothing in exchange for those days.

You see to this moment my love for them does stay.

Yes more treasured then any mans pay.

Great poem Rhea. Made me happy just reading it and brought back many memories to us of our camping and sailing. You have your values well sorted, my friend.

Good memories of priceless moments will never die . I liked how you include the good and the bad . Both sides of the coin of life. There cannot be one without the other. Stuggle together, cry together smile together love . Great mental picture that all can relate to.

This is beautiful, it really is... it's the sum total of what was and in so many ways, still is. You write so tenderly, open the picture book for people to read.

Thank you for letting me share.
