I did enjoy this piece, Dear Poetess, very much so!
I've always been a fan of Free Style poetry and mono-rhymes, and you do them both beautifully.
Also, the keen blending of spot-on and slant rhymes lends this particular beaut a natural, unforced, and easy flow, so very pleasing to my poetic ear.
You've captured the spirit and essence of the poetess and poet simply brilliantly, fully, and with creative ambiance few I know of could … I love it, and the title, too!
Warms me, and makes me feel proud to be a writer of poetry.
Your work is special, unique unto yourself, and draws the mind, heart, and soul of your readers, with you, into your moments; what more could a talented poetess ask … my most grateful hug of thanks to you! ⁓ Richard : )
yes, on this poem...why we write...i like the near rhyme mixed in with the perfect rhyme...and the scheme is musical...although i am generally not a rhyme fan...i do like this.
and in your profile...yes, not a 9-5 job, writing...i write within the crevasses of my teaching---which i do love...but writing is such a part of me, i could never let it go...or more like, it would never let me go...
They say writing is just writing, that it's not a real job. If someone asked me what I do, I'd tell them I write, rather than disclose my full-time job as a rep on the phone. I don't consider writing .. more..
