A Tear For The Memories

A Tear For The Memories

A Poem by Baylin Snow

On occasion I enjoy looking through the

word scribbled books

I filled with excitement

resentment

love

and teenage rebellion.

Small moments long forgotten

make an encore appearance

along with a spark of joy,

mile wstonews flash vividly once again,

and the moments I loved enough

to make sure I kept forever

force a smile upon my face.

Each page turned is passed time

watching 'play' turn into 'chill'

and perfection into slacking,

the recent memories are are still too fresh.

I shed a tear for the memories

letting them go as they roll

off of my chin

down to the floor

where they will stay

overfilled with emotion

until they finally dry.

Lost in the atmosphere

and long forgotten.
