This Painting

A Poem by Samuel Riley

Painted onto this canvas like a broken picture.

Hanging on by a tiny nail.

Along this beaten down wall.

Waiting to fall to this cracking  floor.

Forgotten by the one who painted me.

Lost in this darkness.

Watching the spider make a nest in my corner.

Wishing he would help me stay hanging.

Just a little longer.Would the one who painted me come back?

Was there a reason for me to be forgotten?

As the days turn into years.

Losing track of how long its been.

Spider long gone.

Miss that spider.

Watching my corners fold up.

My colors fading.

As I begin to lose hope.

Wanting to fall and crash to this crumbling floor.

In the distance, A light, A shadow.

Blinded my the new hands that grab me from this dusty wall.

An angel.

Cleaned up, Repainted.

Hanging on new walls for all to see.

Happiness at last.

Really good! I'm not one to usually like poems, but this seems very deep and well though out.
