One Slow Summer Noon

One Slow Summer Noon

A Poem by SUGATA M
"

Based on a Bengali poetry of Akshya Kumar Baral

"

Me and my dull shady tree,

World slowly burning around me,

Drooping lids in dreaming spree,

Shutting my mind in whimsical glee,

Shimmering Summer spreading over saturated She,

My dull shady tree intoxicate meandering me.

I love how this poem has this overall dreamy, cozy effect with just a perfect picture of a nice summer afternoon. Though, in the first line, "My dull shady tree and I" would be correct grammar, it doesn't matter here, because it contributes to the brilliant rhyming, so yeah, this piece is flawless.
