Never Land

Never Land

A Poem by Sunny

Never Lands
A place never-ending
A place that shall always exist,
in our minds,
in our hearts

A place we can go
without ever leaving
reality.

Somewhere to escape to.
A place we go,
that no one else can.

Places like these are hard to find.
Though some find the same place,
it's different.
It suits us.
It's our escape.

You can find them
everywhere,
But now fewer and fewer
know where to look.

Books.
those are our Neverlands
Our escapes that fit us.
They surround us.
And their stories
shall continue to exist in our minds.

Great poem about the flight of imagination and how freeing and nurturing it is for our minds. I love books -- I'm an avid bibliophile. And, there's nothing like a book: taking the book in our hands, feeling the weight of it; opening the book, it's covers like doors to new reality; the smell and the crackle of the pages, and the tactile nuances of the feel of every page… nothing else so completely immerses me in a story… let's me become part of the story. An ebook can never compete with that.

Nice comparison, Books are an amazing outlet. But even more so for me story telling is my neverland. However I love the way you project it this piece, well done.

The idea of a corner where you can release your inner child should never vanish. Nice wordplay Sunny. Keep it up. :)
