Otto

Otto

A Poem by Shannon
"

Well...

"
Otto is a spiteful sprite,
Trying to wreck my writing,
And he just might!

“So”s become “do”s
So many times.
What is in common -
Other than rhymes?

Poor “smurfs” turn to “snuff”,
“Through” is not “tough”.
I am telling you, Otto,
I’ve had quite enough!

“Refuse” is “refused”,
My email rejected,
Appears my phone
Is completely infected!

Rants are turned cute,
Who says “ducking”?
With my words,
He is seriously fu----

Yes, Otto Korrect,
that clever sprite,
Has even kept his
True name from sight!

I feel as though some polishing might be in order. Any ideas?
Two people helped me name Otto Korrect. You know who you are.

Hehe...my phone messages are full of "ducks"...best was when it changed my brothers name, who is Stuart, to "stupid"...I let my own otto have that one and left it unchanged..as names go it suits him far better at the moment! I personally wouldn't change anything about this poem, its fun, relatable and good enough as it is :)

you wouldn't say that if you met him lol
I love this! I feel the narrator's frustration with auto correct, and have experienced it myself. I love the renaming of "auto correct" to "Otto Korrect." This is really well thought-out and executed.

I love it. I have one somewhere on the same subject. A collaboration with Noel HC. Ducking Auto Correct. Yeah, exactly, who says that?

Thanks. Otto really does prefer ducking...
It can be a nuisance. You are typing and it has a mind of its own. Good that you have given it a name. At Least we can curse him by name.

It's been awhile since I visited this site and your poem was one of the few writings that popped on my live feed.So I read. At first I thought it was a real person since I have been checking on publishers and editors too. Or is it? Haha. I like how you gave auto correct a personality. :D
