Sails

Sails

A Poem by Rai

Hand in hand, they
crossed beyond the sea.
"Monsters! Monsters!" they cry,
"Will not let us be!"

Sailed away, to a new world.
Wind shoved them too far.
Now, lost and abandoned,
hiding all their scars.

He and she found a way
to get back home at last.
But danger haunted them
so they climbed upon the mast.

The breeze whistled softly
taunting their faith in love.
So, down they jumped,
hung together, from above.

Wow. I wasn't expecting it to be quite so...morbid? I'm not sure. There's definitely a moody darkness in this poem. I like it.
