BeautyA Poem by Rai
She cowers from the sky,
the birds are not to be trusted. She stole wings from the hawk, but by the owl she was busted. Her feathers all fell out, but she holds her dream together. It's her tears, not the rain, that we all must learn to weather. Vultures pick at her skinny body, so she fakes every lost smile. Whistling, singing, playing but starving all the while. Her flute lilts to the crow, whose alone every day too. Roses bloom in her window garden now her skies are all blue. © 2011 RaiReviews
