The wait

The wait

A Poem by A hollow soul

Decades have passed...
Everything has changed...
Relationships have changed..
Priorities too..

Faces have been painted with wrinkles..
Hairs too have greyed out..
Individuals have grown..

However...

I am somehow...
Still standing in that railway platform..
Watching you go...
That was the last train...
And the last good bye...

I am still...
Writing that last letter to you..
Still reading that last reply from you..
The one you had once decorated with curses for me...

I still stay awake ...
Whole night...
Waiting for your one call...
That call that once used to be the reason for my smile...

You must be packed up..
Now that you've been blessed with the dream..
You always opted for..

I however still wait for your smile..
Your voice...
Your touch...
Probably I am still searching for my existence...
In your heart..

I still feel the ache..
In my heart...
When I open my eyes to the reality..

I quite like the premise of this poem; it's an interesting focus on how time serves to sever people but doesn't really detract from the pain/suffering that parting can cause. I very much like the line 'Probably I am still searching for my existence in your heart'. The one thing I would say is that, possibly, you may have overused the ellipsis somewhat, though I think you may have used it as a device to highlight how the past and present have become disjointed?
