Disguise

Disguise

A Poem by A hollow soul

I could have never known what pleasure is...
Until I was immersed in the grimy well of earthy pain..

I could have never known what light is...
Until I was lost in the darkest grievous lane....

I could have never known what happiness is...
Until sadness had infected every inch of me to get insane...

I could have never known what love is....
Until hatred had left my soul with unrecoverable ugly stain...

I was left grimy, stained and insane by all sorts of pain in my life..
But they didn't know they were the Messengers of pleasure, enlightenment, happiness and love in disguise....

So true. Loss and regret awaken us to the tragedy of what could've and should've been. They allow us to treasure second chances. Thanks for sharing.

Indeed, some must go through hell before they can know what heaven is.

This is a thoughtful poem that should be required reading for everyone here.

Very thoughtful. We know the value of a thing only after we lose it or suffered the alternative. I truly liked this one.
