A Lone

A Lone

A Poem by Stephen Longo

If Were all alone

Then were all together in that too

We wander through

Aimlessly

While everything

Presents itself to us

Still we don’t grasp it

We float by,

Noticed

But unharnessed

Capable of falling off

Unless…

Unless they leap after

Weightless

We’ll both sink

To the bottom of our pool

Drowning in love

In bliss,

Of what could have been missed.
