Secrets Kept From Me {Chapter 1}A Chapter by Raymie NiteThis is the first chapter of my book that i have been typing for forever. This is probably the only chapter im going to post so leave comments about and I might post the second chapter which is super awesome! I hope u enjoy the first chapter!Sunrise burst into my room like it was hungry for darkness. “Rise and shine Camironea!” said my mother tiredly.
I groaned and rolled over looking for darkness so I could go back to sleep. I hated mornings.
“Come on, Cams.” My mom said, pulling off my sheets, “You need to be at school in an hour.”
“Mom! Five more minutes!” I groaned. I didn’t want to get up. But what girl my age does wants to get when her mom tells her to?
“No Camironea. Get dressed. You have a volleyball game today. I already packed your gym bag. Let’s go Camironea.” Mom said.
“It’s Friday?” I asked groggily.
“Of course. Get up Cami. I’m going to go down and make breakfast while you get dressed so your father doesn’t annoy me when he wakes up.”
“Did you wake Cheyanne and Cameron, Mom?” I asked getting out of bed, rubbing my face.
“Nope, not yet. I thought I should wake my teenager first. Would you mind waking them, sweetie?”
“Sure, Mommy.” I said, walking out the door of my room.
I knocked on the door of my little siblings rooms. I didn’t get a response. I knocked again. And again I didn’t get an answer. I started to get worried. So I knocked again and this time I called there names.
“Cheyanne? Cameron? Are you guys awake?”
When I didn’t get a response, I decided to go in and see what was going on. I opened the door to see that they weren’t in their beds.
“GOOD MORNING CAMIRONEA!!!!”
I didn’t have anytime to be startled. I was down to the floor and staring at my smaller brother and sister laughing. I was laughing along before I knew it. My siblings were silly for their age but smart. My brother was eight and my sister was four. I got along with them better than most teens get along with their brothers and sisters. I love them both dearly. My brother was just like my dad. Wise, outgoing, brave, funny and faithful. He also looks like dad. He has dirty blond hair and faint jade green eyes with a bold face. My sister on the other hand was a huge combination of me and my mother. She has my mom’s personality but my looks. She has chocolate hair like mine and bright, vivid eyes and a heart shape face with big almond eyes. But she was cautious sometimes, and stubborn and caring. Like my mom.
“Good morning to you too, you little monsters.” I said playfully. “How are you?”
“Great” said Cheyanne in her cute baby voice. She couldn’t say her g’s or r’s. So she said great like jate.
“Awesome” Cameron said.
“Cool. Could you get off me now?” I asked. I still had to get dressed and do my hair and make up. I also needed to eat breakfast.
“All right.”They said as they got off of me.
“I’ll see you at breakfast, kiddies.”I said as I walked to my room.
I went to my closet to pick what to wear. I had a lot of choices. With my dad’s awesome job, I have a walk-in closet that is bigger than my dad’s room that he uses to exercise in that is filled with clothes. It takes me forever to pick what wear in the morning. But usually on days when I have a game it doesn’t take me long to find what I’m wearing that day. Today I have a volleyball game. So I walked to the back of my closet to find my CHS volleyball t-shirt. My volleyball t-shirt is blue with “CHS Volleyball” written in orange and it had volleyball in the shape of a blue devil going over a net. I didn’t like it personally. The devil was uncanny and scary. I went to find some cute bottom to go with it. I decided on some extremely dark blue jeans that had a lot of pockets on them and was bedazzled around the pockets. Then I chose an auburn belt that had silver rhinestones on them. I grabbed a pair of converses not caring which pair and came out of my closet closing it behind me. I walked to my desk that had all of my accessories and make up in it. It was a black desk just like all of my furniture. It had a huge mirror and a bunch of drawers. I sat down in my chair and lend down to the last drawer on the left. I opened it to get a pair of arm warmers. I loved arm and hand warmers. They made me look a little hard core. I chose a pair that was blue and had orange monkeys on them. After I put them on I pulled out the top drawer on the left to nab a pair of socks. I chose one sock that was blue with silver stripes and one sock that was orange with silver polka dots. I put on my converses which I noticed were the crossword pair that I had filled in with different colored permanent marker a couple months ago. Once I finished tying them I sat straight so I could do my hair and make up. I put on some eyeliner and some light blue eye shadow with cherry blush and clear lip gloss. When I finished I grabbed a rubber band and put my hair in a ponytail. When I was done I grabbed my book bag and walked down stairs. I dropped my book bag down next to my gym bag which my mom had packed and went to the kitchen to greet and wait for the rest of my family.
“Good morning, mommy.” I greeted my mother.
“Hey, sleepy.” She said. She was still in her robe with her pajamas under them and her bunny slippers on. She had at least combed her hair and washed her face. I went to kiss her on the check and she leaned in so I could.
“What’s for breakfast?” I asked.
“Sausage, waffles, eggs, toast, and pop tarts for the kids.” She responded.
“Yummy.” I said eagerly.
“Could you set the table, dear?” My mom requested.
“M’kay.”I answered. I set the table like I was told. While was setting the table my dad wobbled in tired and groggy. He had just gotten home from his last couple shoes via a plane. He’d gotten back at five so he must be exhausted.
“’Sup, Dad?” I greeted. My dad was a lot much cooler than my mommy. He was the greatest.
“Hey…Cupcake.” Daddy yawned. When I got done with setting the table I got his favorite coffee mug that had “the world’s most awesome and greatest dad” on it and poured him a cup of coffee. I put in three sugars and five cream. Then I set on the table beside his plate.
Soon the two kids ran down the stars dressed and ready to go to school. They sat down at the table just as mom was putting food on the table. I ate my waffle and sausage and eggs and toast slowly. My mom’s cooking was so good.
I heard the door open and knew that Theo was here. He stopped ringing the doorbell because he knew how I hated being interrupted during a meal.
“Knock, Knock.” He shouted, playfully. I heard the siblings giggle. I gave them a look. I finished and went to put my food in the dish washer just as he walked in to the kitchen.
“Hello Mr. and Ms. Michaels.” He said politely. He had a beautiful voice. It was husky but smooth. He also had a light Irish accent. It was mystifying. “What’s going on squirts?” he greeted my siblings. He muffled their hair while they said hi back.
“Hi, Coco.” He said to me. He gave me that nickname because of my love for chocolate. He came and took me into a huge embrace. He smelled so good. He smelled like nature and apricots.
“Hey, Pooh-bear.” I said stretching to kiss him. He laughed and bent to kiss me on my lips. He kissed me lovingly and softly and slowly his tongue playing in my mouth mine playing in his. His soft, short, silky red hair was on my check. Theo had incredible hair. It was strawberry red. It came down an inch or so from the end of his ear and it covered his bright dark blue eyes. He also had the cutest freckles up under his eyes and over his nose and across his cheeks. He had these bulgy muscles that made him look incredibly sexy. Theo wore a chain every day around his neck every day and he wore three black ear rings at the bottom of his ear spread out about two centimeters apart from each other. He was so delicious.
My father cleared his throat loudly. Theo and I separated immediately holding hands only.
“Get a room!” Cameron yelled. I glowered at him and he looked away quickly.
“Camironea should you be getting to school, honey?” My mom said happily. Whenever she saw me and Theo together it always reminded her of when she and my dad meet. It made her feel young again. Or younger. My dad, on the other hand, didn’t like it when I tried to grow up. He wants me to stay his little cupcake forever. He still thinks I’m nine.
“Yea…uh, you’re right. We still have to pick up the others.” I said. “I’ll see you guys at the game. Later!”
They all told me good bye and grabbed my book bag and gym bag. I walked out the door Theo’s hand in my left. When we were outside we laughed and he nuzzled my neck. It tickled and I had to giggle and pull a little away.
“So… What’s up with you, bookie?” He asked smiling.
“Nothing much. I just have a volleyball game today so… yea.”
“Neat. I guess I’ll be cheering for you on the sidelines?” He said grinning more as he opened the passenger seat door for me and helped me in. Theo was driving his Hummer today. Theo’s family had nine cars including his. A Camry, Toyota Tundra, a Mercedes Bens, a Volvo, a Cadillac, a Lexus, a Porsche, and a Mustang. They had three garages that held three cars each. Theo’s family was rich.
“Of course.”I said. I buckled my seatbelt and waited for Theo to hop in. He put on his seatbelt and turned the car on.
“So who to pick up first?”Theo asked backing out of my driveway.
“How about…Leslie?”I suggested.
“Sounds good.” He agreed, making a left turn. “So are you nervous about the big volleyball game?”
“A little. It’s the championship game and this is my last year at CHS. I mean Columbus has never been to a championship game before. The pressure is all on me to win. I’m pretty nervous.” I said quickly and in a rush
“Hey, don’t be nervous. You can do this. You are an incredible athlete. Trust me.” He said encouragingly and kissed me on my forehead.
“Thanks honey.” I said.
“Prepare yourself, we’re at Leslie’s.” He said honking his horn.
“Coolness.” I said sarcastically. He smiled.
Leslie came out the house yelling bye to her mother with her book bag on her shoulder along with her purse. Her dirty blonde hair was in a perfect ponytail. She was wearing a red silky kimono top and dark denim jeans with plaid flats. She was short compared to me. She was about four feet seven. She had the figure of someone petite like her. She had on blush, lipstick, and eye shadow over her hazel eyes. She jumped in the front row of the hummer after tripping a bit and closed the car door behind her and buckled her seatbelt.
“Hi guys!” She said in that cute Minnie mouse voice that was filled with excitement. “Guess what Beckie told me last night?”
“I don’t know Leslie. What?” I said smiling as she jumped up and down in her seat. This must be some really juicy gossip.
“Beckie saw some extremely hot guy move in across the street from her!”
“Really?”I said showing how not surprised I was. People moved into Columbus all time because of the war in Iraq.
“Come on, Cams. This is exciting! Beckie heard that he is supposed to be going to Columbus High. She also heard that this guy is supposed to be from somewhere in the west. Beckie says he is supposed to be super duper hot.” She said still excited.
“Les, you think every guy is hot.” Theo said, laughing.
“Shut up, Theodore.” Leslie said glowering at Theo and laying back and crossing her legs. Theo and Leslie didn’t exactly get along very well. Theo was a little of a bad boy. Leslie was more of a goody goody. Of course they argue a lot. And I’m stuck in between.
We were silent until we got to Freddie’s house which was only five houses and a turn from Leslie’s. Freddie was Leslie’s boyfriend. They had been dating since last summer. Freddie was the captain of the basketball team and the tennis team. He was about five foot nine. He had short dark blonde hair with brown eyes and light skin. He came running out the house closing the door behind him wearing a CHS sports shirt with a track jacket and light jeans and sneakers. He jumped into the Hummer and scooted close to Leslie.
“Hey, Cutie.” He said kissing Leslie.
“Hey.” She said in between kisses. Theo and I just looked out the wind shield.
“Is that what we are like when kiss?” Theo whispered to me, chuckling a little.
“I hope not.”I whispered back chuckling too.
They continued to kiss until we stopped at Raphael’s. Raphael is Mercedes’ boyfriend. He is captain of the baseball team and the lacrosse team. He was tanned with glossy black hair. He was tall as me and had dark brown eyes. Raphael was sitting on his front porch eating on an apple while listening to his IPod. Theo honked and Raphael put his IPod away and grabbed his book bag. He opened the door and got in the back while Freddie closed the door back.
“’Sup Theo?” Raphael greeted. “Hi, Cami.”
“Hey, Rafe.” Theo and I said together.
“Hey, Romeo and Juliet, get a room.” Raphael said to Freddie and Leslie, hitting Freddie playfully.
“Whatever Rafe.” Freddie said hitting Raphael back.
“Hey Theo, did you watch the game last night?” Raphael asked the guys. I rolled my eyes.
The boys talked the football game last night while Leslie and I looked out of our windows until we got to Beckie’s. She got into the car and got into the seat behind Raphael. She immediately started talking about the new kid once she was buckled in.
“OMG! He is so hot. I saw him leave this morning and he was so graceful. Oh man, he was hot.” She said dreamily.
“Is he really that cute, Becks?” I asked honestly curious.
“He is better than cute, Cami. He is…incredible.” Beckie said dreaming.
“Did he come visit you or something?” I asked.
“Does that matter? I saw him standing there and he was gorgeous.” Usually Beckie was quiet and shy. But she was a gossiper too.
“Do you now his name Beckie?” Leslie asked looking back at Beckie curiosity in her eyes.
“I think his name is Reid. My parents went to see his parents while I was out with Robby. He’s from somewhere in the west part of the U.S.”Beckie responded.
Theo and I rolled our eyes. We weren’t exactly impressed. Theo, Robby, Raphael, and I kept quiet while Leslie and Beckie discussed Reid.
We picked up Mercedes and Robby as their conversation continued. Mercedes joined in when she got into the car. While the other girls discussed boys, Theo being his romantic self whispered loving passionate lines to me while I giggled about it. Theo and I had been dating since he moved here about two years ago during sophomore year. We were probably the most talked about couple at CHS. Theo had kind of taken me from my last boyfriend in a fight over me sort of. We’ve dating ever since that fight.
We finally made it to Columbus High School. Columbus High is one of the best schools in the Muscogee County School District. Columbus is also one the oldest schools in Georgia. It was built around 1890 but it was relocated to various locations throughout Columbus. Columbus High looks more like a renaissance building than an actual school. It hasn’t been remodeled on the outside since forever. But the Muscogee County teacher board apparently don’t care about the outside as much as they care about what goes on inside.
Theo lifted me out of the Hummer as usual. He grabbed my bags for me and we walked to our lockers. Theo left and dropped my gym bag at the gym while I got my books and binders for first, second, and third block.
I opened my locker and got out my books and binder and put them in my book bag. I slung my book bag over my book bag and got ready to go to my first period when I suddenly bumped into him.
Oh my god. He was hot.
He had straight brown hair and the brightest green eyes I had ever seen besides my own. He had a sexy body and the cutest face. He was wearing a My Chemical Romance shirt with an old pair of Nikes. He also had headphones in his ears. He wore a look of surprise and guilt on his face.
“Oops. Sorry about that. I didn’t see you there.” Wow. Was his voice sexy.
I was so busy admiring him that I spaced out. He was so beautiful.
“Are you okay?” he asked, kneeling down to examine me.
I finally found my voice. “Yeah. I’m fine.”
“Cool. I was afraid you might call the principal or some crap like that.” He said laughing. Crap. He has perfect teeth.
“Oh no, I’m not a snitch. Um, by the way my name is Camironea Michaels.”I said extending my hand.
“The name is Reid Machase. Greet to meet someone different.” He said smiling and shaking my hand. My god! He was so warm.
“Different? What do mean?”I asked, stopping shaking his hand and staring curiously.
“Well, everyone else has either giggled, stared, smiled, or just acted weird when I walked by. Not mention this bunch of girls that I met when I first walked in. They had some problems to work with but anyway. You are the first real person I talked to that doesn’t like at me like I’m a freak.”
“Well you’re not one. I’ve never looked at someone I don’t know like that. Besides you seem nice to me.”I said, blushing a little. I suddenly realized that we were still holding each other’s hand. His was so warm I’m surprised mine hadn’t started sweating.
“Thanks. You’re a cool person Camironea.” He said smiling and again showing his gorgeously white and perfect teeth.
“Your welcome.” I said, trying to act as natural as I could. He was just so handsome when he smiled like that. We were quiet for a minute. I looked around and saw the whole hallway was empty. I looked at my watch. I had five minutes before the first bell! I had to hurry. Mrs. Annabelle was always
late but her class was a staircase away from my locker. Not to mention it was at the end of the longest hallway on the floor. I had to push it or else.
“Sorry Reid I got to go. The first bell rings in five minutes! And I just can’t be late. I’ll see you later.” I said in a rush.
“Wait, who’s class are you about to got to?” He asked.
“Mrs. Annabelle’s” I answered suspiciously.
“Oh awesome. That’s where I’m going. Can I run to class?” He said sarcastically. I had to laugh.
“Sure.” I said. “Race you.”
I started to run and he caught up with me. So I ran faster. We ran up the stairs and made it to Mrs. Annabelle’s class in record time. We weren’t even tired when we got in the class. But we were arguing playfully.
“I so beat you.”I said, laughing.
“No you didn’t I beat you.” He said laughing along.
I looked over at my friends and all of them had similar looks. Theo and Raphael wore looks of playfully curiousness. Freddie and Leslie and Robby were confused. Beckie and Mercedes had looks similar to that of jealously. I waved to them. Only Theo waved back.
“Hey guys.”I said walking towards them.
“Hey sweets.” He said his eyes averted to Reid. He smiled. “Hey. You must be Reid. You’re the new kid right?”
“Um, y-yea. I just moved here.” He stuttered. I would have stuttered too if I had seen Theo for the first time.
“Cool. I’m Theo.” He said, giving Reid a welcoming smile.
“H-hi.” Reid said.
Once everyone else introduce themselves, I took my usual place next to Theo. Reid got a desk and chair and pulled it up next to me. I looked at him confused. I didn’t expect Reid to cling to me. But when I looked into his eyes I had this feeling run into my body. It felt strange. I saw hurt and pain in Reid’s eyes. I saw loneliness and anger. And in that exact moment I wanted to protect Reid for some reason. I wanted to help him. Also in that moment I felt his pain, his anguish. I wanted to hold him. I wanted to hug him. Reid was different. More different than any other person I had ever met.
“Hey Cami. Cami.”
Theo’s voice knocked me back to Earth. I immediately broke my gaze from Reid and looked at Theo.
“Yea, Theo?”I asked.
“I asked if maybe after you win the big volleyball game if you waited to maybe go out and celebrate.” Theo asked. He had some excitement in his eyes. Theo loved spending time with me. And I him. I always felt safe with Theo. Not mention he was really romantic.
“Now wait a minute guys. We don’t know if I’m going to win. It could be possible that we’ll lose. I mean I hear Hardaway has a tough volleyball team. Why are you guys so confident?”
“Because Cami we have known you forever and day and you can play every sport know to man. We believe in you. Not to mention, you were put into the CHS hall of fame sophomore year. Besides remember last year? You won every single game.” Leslie encouraged.
“Yea but Hardaway took the championship.” I argued.
“But you’re going to win this year. Besides it was rigged last year.” Mercedes said.
“All right how about we just go out to celebrate you doing your best in the game no matter if you lose or win. Fair enough?”Leslie said.
“That’s sounds fair. Where are we going?” I asked.
“How about Hollywood Connections? By the time the game is over the back door will be opened.” Said Raphael.
“Sounds great. Hey Reid? You want to come?”I said looking at him I had excitement in my eyes. I must have. Because when he looked at me he immediately smiled that smile where his perfect teeth flashed. I had to think about breathing when I say that smile.
“But you don’t even know me. You would ask me to a get together with you and your friends?” He asked he was still smiling but I could tell he was shocked.
“Of course Reid. I just have a good feeling about you. Besides you seem nice.” I said.
“A good feeling? Ever heard of a wolf in sheep’s clothing?”
“Yea but your not that. Are you?” I asked, raising an eyebrow. I knew Reid wasn’t bad. He just didn’t seem like it.
“Na. But… You know what I’ll come.” He said, finally deciding.
“Seriously?” Mercedes, Beckie, and Leslie asked at the same time.
“Yea sure. As long as someone drives me there.” Reid said.
“Why can’t you drive your self, dude?” Freddie queried.
“I’ll tell you later.” Reid said.
“Theo will pick you up. Won’t you pookie?” I asked Theo starting to play with his hair.
“I will?” He asked chuckling.
“Of course you will.”I said smiling his favorite smile. I always persuaded him with that smile.
“Fine.” He kissed me on the forehead then, smiling.
“Is that okay with you Reid?” I looked over at Reid to see his expression. He was excited like the rest of us.
“That’s perfect. Thanks for inviting me. So can I come see your volleyball game too?” He said. I could tell he wasn’t kidding. He was interested in seeing me play. But then again after all he’s heard I’m not surprised he does want to come.
“Sure.” I said.
“Cool.” Reid said.
“All right, class. Turn to page 48 in your history books.” Mrs. Annabelle walked in to the class. And class started.
* * * *
“Good luck, Camironea!”
“Bring the trophy back to CHS!”
“Do your best Cams!”
Everyone kept encouraging me win. Everyone. The whole school, including the teachers and the principals. This made me little nervous. I wasn’t one to get nervous. I don’t know why I was nervous. I was great at sports. I’ve played every sport a girl can play at CHS. I also do some sports outside of school. I’ve never been nervous before a game before. I don’t get why this game is different.
I made to the cafeteria finally. I was starving. I was always hungry for some reason. I went through the lunch line and got as much food as I could and got two drinks. I paid for it and walked out of the lunch line. My friends were sitting at the usual table. I walked over at sat next to my boyfriend who was already eating. Just like me Theo was a huge glutton. We were so made for each other.
“Oh my gosh! He is so adorable!” Leslie said.
“I know! He’s so hot! And fiine!” Mercedes said waving some imaginary heat.
“I told you! But he is so much cuter in person. Man, he’s handsome!” Beckie said.
I rolled my eyes as ate some spaghetti. Of course that’s all they could talk about. Reid. I continued to eat my spaghetti as they kept talking about how gorgeous Reid was.
“Hey everyone.”
We all looked to see Frankie standing there. She was smiling her red hair in a ponytail and her athletic body in her cheerleadering sweats. Frankie was the captain of the cheerleading team. But I didn’t hold that against her. Frankie was one of my best friends. She was a year older than me but she was so nice and mature and sweet. I could go to her for anything. Frankie was the best. Frankie, Leslie and I had been friends since kindergarten. We were, and still are, in separable. We do gymnastics together, hangout together, and do three way calling. Frankie and Leslie have helped me through some rough times. They are my best friends.
“What are you guys talking about?” She asked sitting down in between Leslie and Robby.
“The new kid Reid.” I answered swallowing the last of my spaghetti and moving on to my green beans.
“Oh I meet him. He is really kind. And kinda cute.” Frankie said, her naturally perfect skin blushing.
“Cute? He’s hot!” Beckie said.
“Oh here he comes.”Leslie said
Sure enough Reid walked into the cafeteria. My god, he was graceful. I got out of my trance and waved at Reid. He saw me and waved back smiling. He got in the lunch line and got his food. I waved him over and he nodded understanding. I continued to eat as I waited for Reid to get over and sit down.
“Uh-oh, cheerleader alert.” Leslie said.
I immediately looked up and like clockwork, Brittany and her passé were heading towards Reid. I had a little problem with some of the cheerleaders. Well all of them except one. Brittany was the co-captain of the CHS cheerleaders. But she acted like the captain. She ruled the school. Well the part of the school that was scared of her. She had the whole entire cheerleadering team was scared of her. Except Frankie of course. But Brittany hated my guts. Just because everyone in the school liked me. She has some serious issues.
She was now in her cheerleader’s uniform which is against the rules and heading towards Reid. Reid was walking towards our table and he didn’t even see her coming she stopped him dead his tracks. Reid wasn’t far from our table so I could hear their conversation.
“Hi! We didn’t get to talk in the hallway. But anyway my name is Brittany what’s yours?” She asked in that horrible high valley girl voice.
“Uh… My name is Reid. Nice to meet you Brittany. If you excuse me Brittany I’m going to go eat at that table right there.” Reid looked over at me and smiled. I smiled back. He was telling Brittany.
“No don’t sit over there come sit at the table with me. The only people that sit there are losers.” Brittany said. She must really have the hots for Reid.
“Well looks like I’m a loser. Now could you get lost so I can eat. I’m not interested in desperate s***s like you.” Ouch. That was deep. I was impressed.
Brittany looked on the verge of tears. But she would never cry in front of a crowd. So I intervened. She had only stood there for about three minutes but she was making me ill.
“Brittany if he doesn’t wait to sit at your table then get over it and go bother some guy that loves to be adored by a skank.” Maybe a little harsh but with Brittany you had to be that way for her to leave you alone. But she was mad now. Extremely. But before she could counter a voice interrupted.
“Camironea, have you found another already?”
Lance Carton.
Lance and I had been boyfriend girlfriend for awhile. Until Theo came and you could say stole my heart. So through a long ordeal Theo finally won me over and I broke up with Lance. But maybe a bit too harshly. He never got over it really. He has never really moved on. But word around the school says he and Brittany are dating now. I think it’s true. They both hate me and Theo and deep down want to be with one of us and kill the other. It’s really possible.
“Lance, what do you want?” I asked malice in my voice. I disliked Lance about as much as I hated Brittany.
“Well, a little birdie told me that you and Reidie boy here were hanging in the hallway. So quick to move on to some other cute boy are you, babe?” Lance said. Lance was cocky and very clever but foolish. He definitely knew how to anger me.
“Two things, Lance. One, don’t you ever call me babe. And to I don’t feel that way about Reid. He’s just a friend. But it’s not like I have to report that to my ex-boyfriend.” I scoffed.
“Yea, Lance why don’t you piss off. I would hate to make this ugly in front of Cami.”Theo said chuckling a little under his breath but his arm was around me protectively.
“Hey and Lance. Don’t be so quick to make up couples. I don’t feel that way about Camironea. She’s real just a friend.”Reid said.
“Sure that’s what Camironea told me about Theodore and look at them now. Oh, and trust Theodore I wouldn’t fight in front of an audience.” Lance said.
“You know Lance, you’re an a*s. And the way to get to an a*s is through his reputation.”I said as I grabbed my juice bottle and squirted it. The juice landed exactly where I wanted it to. In Lance’s crotch.
Everyone in the cafeteria must have been watching because they all burst out laughing. Everyone was laughing, including everyone at my table and me. The only two that weren’t laughing were Brittany and Lance who looked on the brink of tears.
“You’re going to regret this Camironea!” Lance yelled over the laughter in the cafeteria as he and Brittany ran towards the cafeteria’s doors.
“Yea the day I regret this Lance is the day you learn to control your bladder!” I countered. The cafeteria burst into laughter again.
When everything settled back down Reid sat down in between me and Mercedes. When we all finished eating we waited for the bell to ring for us to go to fourth period. While we waited we talked.
“Hey, Frankie. You want to come to our celebration tonight?” Leslie asked.
“What are we celebrating?” She asked confused.
“Me doing my best in the volleyball game tonight.” I said bored.
“Oh, sure, I’ll come.” Frankie said, “Where will it be?”
“At Hollywood Connections.” Theo piped in.
“Great. I don’t know the last time I’ve been out with friends. I can’t wait.”Frankie said excited. “Hey Reid are you going?”
“Yep. Athlete here convinced me come.” Reid said. I rolled my eyes.
“Cool. So Reid how are you enjoying Columbus High?” Frankie asked.
“It’s alright. The school is. Some of the people… need some help.”
“Oh you’re talking about Brittany and Lance. Yea they’re only like that to me and Theo and whoever gets involved. And Reid you’ve probably just got involved. But not just yet.” I said
“What do you do you mean Cami?” Reid asked.
“I mean Brittany has a crush on you. And she isn’t going to until either you do something to get to her or you find a girlfriend she is afraid of. And as for Lance well he’s just in denial.”
“How is he in denial?”
“Well. Lance thinks I’ve got the hots for you Reid and that I don’t like Theo anymore. So he’s jealous that since I don’t like Theo anymore that I’m going after you. But all of that is so not true. He lives in his own world nowadays.” I explained.
“Oh so he has a crush on you.”Reid said.
“Kinda sorta.” I said. Then suddenly the bell rang and we all said our good byes.
“See you guys at the game!” I yelled.
“See you!” They yelled back.
