The Day She Said "YES"

The Day She Said "YES"

A Poem by Salem

Today's dawn started so bright
the sun arose and shined with light
a field of roses filled with your fragrance,
and birds whistled along with joyance,

Heaven has opened its doors above,
It showered me with blessing and love,
And resembled both of them into you,
The one who changed my life into a better view,

Flowers bloomed oh to your gorgeous smile,
While love and peace filled the wild,
Warmth in the air I could feel,
My desire for you was one I couldn't seal,

Clueless I was, about love,
Until I met you- so white and pure like a dove,
You are the angel that enlightened my life,
On the day you agreed to be my wife,

For years in a barren desert long miles i drove,
to find my final destination at your grove,
And when love sparkled within my heart,
I became the master of poetry art,

I will sing my love song to the crowd,
And love you forever - this I vowed,
My happiness can't be described with words,
You are the only one I preferred,

My eagerness is beyond controlled,
Our story is yet still untold,
But one day I'll whisper the word of love to you,
And hear you say "I love you too"

You did fine on here. The only thing that bothers me about a poem like this is that without a meter or syllable count involved, there's a tendency to stick in a bunch of words in order to rhyme and it feels a bit odd.

Hopeful and beautiful words for love.
"My eagerness is beyond controlled,
Our story is yet still untold,
But one day I'll whisper the word of love to you,
And hear you say "I love you too"
When two people find the same place and path. Decide to become one in love. Best days of a life. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
