TODDLERS' JUSTICE

TODDLERS' JUSTICE

A Poem by SHEEMA HUQ

TODDLERS’ JUSTICE

Bored, restless, protest cries

Galloping feet, prying eyes

Fidgeting limbs, irrepressible whims

Ranting, panting, jumping, thumping

Pushing, pleading, hanging, heaving

Swaying, swinging, careless flinging

Prancing, chanting, wanting something

Sporadically jovial, needing approval

Curious ears, boisterous jeers

Robust cheers, tentative leers

Looming fears, sprawling tears

Rumbling belly, mimicking jelly

Moistened cheeks, savouring treats

Fleeting gazes, determined paces

Half formed phrases

Tardy embraces…

Safe.

This is great, it was cute and fleeting, like childhood, you captured that age so well. I really like how you ended as well, two single rhyming lines and a word that rhymes with non of it. It's like a period to the end of a sentence. Good job.

Adorable... loved the fast tumbling pace... much like a toddlers sporadic flight.

Oh you have truly captured the nature of toddlers in this. Love it :)
