Tea leaves ;

Over straineth

When novelties

wear waffery thin,

the lame, lifeless,

dregs, of ideas,

and hopes, are

strained through

a wire mesh,

of desperate,

seething stress,

screwed up, then

chucked forth,

just missing the bin,

behind the desk,

in a hostile mess,

fuming, like

fatigued guests.

A Half Decent Brew

          When tea bags of opportunities

are perforated with mystical conceptions,

you seek asylum with a warmed up

cup of reason, rich and flavoursome,

as you sip, gulp and

slurp from the tannin stained rim,

                     tantalising your taste buds,

briskly burning your lips,

allowing your dentures to take a swim,

countering your lethargy with

earthly ginseng energy,

satisfying  a ferocious  thirst

with a fresh brew of self worth,

dribbling new goals to conspire,

of subterranean desires,

that wasn’t half, a decent Cuppa!

there is an analogy of a spent tea bag to something that can not be covered in a family friendly web site, a reference to a pejorative to the male condition, I have always noticed. Especially if the tea bag was saved to be used again, and then forgotten for a time. Steep is the path of lfe and steep in the path of tea..

A Half Decent Brew...

LOL. Another witty piece. Nice analogy of tea and a literary piece.

"cup of reason, rich and flavoursome,
as you sip, gulp and
slurp from the tannin stained rim,"

Haha! Indeed there are different flavors offered here...and I enjoy sipping.

Great write!

Such a lovely review from you Dhaye, I do so enjoy hearing from you, big thanks.
Very cool. Loved the first one, felt kind of like my office. The second was well done too. " Tea bags of opportunities" "briskly burning your lips, allowing your dentures to take a swim" Nicely done both times.

Thank you Jack for this most generous review, nice to hear from you :)
Lol your reads are always entertaining! I love the contrast here. It's true, we see the same thing in two completely different ways, depending on our mood.

My pleasure, loved 'you seek asylum with a warmed up cup of reason', great line....!
We got two excellent treats here. Tea leaves and then the great brew of poetry. I really like the form of the first one more than the other...Bravo
