GLOATING OAK

Poem

 

                                    Scrambled branches,

                      Shivering leaves,

                  Incursive grief,

                     Estranged breeze,

                  Bellowing brief,

                  Catkins stark,

                       Rusting bark,                    

                  Demurely parched,

                       Oak tree gloats

                         A silent oath.

I think you are doing a wonderful job for the adjective. At school we were taught not to use too many adjectives but to use similies instead. I always rather disagreed because I think there are some wonderful adjectives, especially when they are used as sort of similies, as you have done. Well done for writing this poem full of visual pictures ( rather then metaphores!) I think they are going to have to invent some more words for poetry forms! I shall watch your space!
